Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (or haddock) 200 g each
  • 1 Batter: 250 mL flour, 5 mL baking powder, 250 mL cold lager, salt
  • 1 Flour for coating
  • 1 Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 Potatoes for chips
  • 1 Malt vinegar for serving

Instructions

    Batter: Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the cold beer. Do not overmix.

    Cut the potatoes into fries and fry them once at 150°C (300°F) for 5 minutes.

    Pat the fillets dry, season them, and coat them in flour, then in the batter.

    Fry the fillets in oil at 190°C (375°F) for 5-6 minutes until golden.

    Fry the chips again at 190°C (375°F) for 3-4 minutes to make them crispy.

    Serve with malt vinegar and tartare sauce.
