Ingredients

  • 1 bone-in smoked ham, 3-4 kg
  • 375 ml maple syrup
  • 125 ml brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 15 whole cloves
  • 250 ml apple juice

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 165°C (325°F).

    Place the ham in a roasting pan. Pour the apple juice into the bottom of the pan.

    Bake for 2 hours, covered.

    Remove from oven. Score the ham skin in a diamond pattern and insert a whole clove into each diamond.

    Mix the maple syrup, brown sugar, and mustard. Brush over the ham.

    Return to the oven, uncovered, for 45 minutes, basting every 15 minutes.
