Traditional Quebec recipe: Maple Syrup Venison Stir-fry. A classic wild game dish from the Quebec hunting tradition.

Ingredients

  • 500 g thinly sliced venison
  • 80 ml maple syrup
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 Sesame seeds for garnish
  • 1 Sliced green onions

Instructions

    Combine maple syrup, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and ginger.

    Marinate the meat for 2 hours in the refrigerator.

    Drain the meat (reserve the marinade). Pat dry.

    Sear the meat over high heat in oil in small batches.

    Dissolve the cornstarch in the reserved marinade and pour into the pan.

    Cook until thickened.

    Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve over rice.
