Ingredients

  • 1 kg frying potatoes (Russet), cut into sticks
  • 400 g fresh cheese curds(squeaky cheese)
  • 1 Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 Salt
  • 500 mL chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 Pepper

Instructions

    For the sauce: Melt the butter, add the flour, and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Gradually whisk in the broth. Add the soy sauce and ketchup.

    Cook until thickened. Season and keep warm.

    For the fries: Heat the oil to 150°C (300°F). Fry the potato sticks for 5 minutes. Drain.

    Increase the oil temperature to 190°C (375°F). Fry a second time for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

    Place the fries in a bowl, add the cheese curds, and pour hot sauce over them. Serve immediately.
