Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef chuck or brisket point
  • 4 whole peeled carrots
  • 4 whole peeled potatoes
  • 1 turnip, peeled and quartered
  • 1 small green cabbage, quartered
  • 2 whole onions
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 Salt, pepper, and parsley

Instructions

    Place the meat in a large pot and cover with cold water.

    Bring to a boil and skim. Add the bay leaf, salt, and pepper.

    Simmer for 2 hours over low heat.

    Add the onions, turnip, and carrots. Cook for 30 minutes.

    Add the potatoes, celery, and cabbage. Cook for another 30 minutes.

    Serve the sliced meat with the vegetables and a little broth.
