Traditional Quebec recipe: Smoked Trout Mousse. A classic wild game dish from the Quebec hunting tradition.

Ingredients

  • 250 g flaked smoked trout
  • 125 g softened cream cheese
  • 80 ml sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped dill
  • 1 tbsp chives
  • 1 1/2 tsp prepared horseradish
  • 1 Salt and pepper

Instructions

    Combine cream cheese and sour cream in a food processor.

    Add the smoked trout and pulse for a few seconds (to retain some texture).

    Stir in the lemon, dill, chives, and horseradish.

    Season to taste.

    Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour.

    Serve with crackers and raw vegetables.
