Ingredients

  • 600 g walleye fillets, cut into pieces
  • 250 ml flour
  • 250 ml cold lager beer
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 Oil for frying
  • 1 Homemade fries and coleslaw for serving

Instructions

    Heat oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep fryer.

    Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.

    Stir in beer and egg to form a smooth batter.

    Refrigerate batter for 15 minutes.

    Dip walleye pieces into the batter.

    Fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Serve with fries, coleslaw, and malt vinegar.
