Ingredients

  • 500 ml flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 60 ml softened butter
  • 175 ml lukewarm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Frying oil
  • 1 Toppings: sugar and cinnamon, Nutella, maple syrup, lemon and sugar

Instructions

    Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

    Incorporate the butter, milk, and egg to form a dough.

    Knead for 5 minutes. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

    Divide into 8 pieces and stretch each into an elongated oval shape (beaver tail).

    Fry in oil at 190°C (375°F) for about 1 minute per side.

    Garnish to taste (classic = sugar and cinnamon).
